All the Buzz From the Winter NAMM Show We introduced the new MPK25 25-key performance controller with MPC pads, the brand-new OS 2.0 for the MPC5000 with more than 25 new features, and the gear that’s now on top of everyone’s wish list: the APC40 Ableton Performance Controller. We also had tons of booth performances, including this one by jazz star Jeff Kashiwa.
The cat is out of the bag. The APC40 is the only controller developed for Ableton Live with Ableton. Check out the official press-conference video from Ableton, other APC40 videos, and all the details on FutureMusic’s Gear of the Show, the Akai Professional APC40.
Al Davis is working on Al Green’s latest album. We caught up with him in the studio and found out about how he’s using the MPC and EWI to create The Reverend’s soulful sonorities.
Akai Professional EWI artist Mike Phillips (Prince, Stevie Wonder) led a series of EWI jams at the company’s booth at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. The performances turned the heads of everyone within earshot and had the crowd begging for more. Check out the video. |
