Pro Tools Express supports buffer sizes of 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, or 2048. You will need to configure your I/O device through its control panel (outside of Pro Tools) to use a supported buffer size. This process varies by manufacturer; please check your hardware documentation for specific instruction.

Pro Tools Express M-Audio/Akai Pro Edition is telling me "The selected ASIO audio device could not be initialized. Please choose another audio device". What should I do?

Pro Tools is a demanding application that requires full capabilities of your hardware I/O device. For this reason, you’ll need to connect your interface to a USB 2.0 port that delivers the full available bus power, such as a rear USB port on a tower computer. If this does not resolve the issue, then your device is likely not being recognized by your system; please troubleshoot the device connectivity with your hardware manufacturer.

I am getting an error, "The currently installed soundcard driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible." What should I do?

This error is easy to bypass by clicking Ok. You will be able to mix, and create Instrument tracks, but recording will not be possible until plugging in a compatible audio interface with a Mic or Instrument input.
