MPC 1000 - Syncing with Reason 7

Setup for the MPC 1000

Before beginning, be sure to connect MIDI OUT A from the MPC 1000 to the MIDI IN of the external MIDI interface being used.

  1. Go to the MIDI/Sync menu of the MPC 1000.  Press [Mode] Pad 9.
     
  2. Press [F2] SYNC.
     
  3. Set Sync In to Off.
     
  4. Set Sync Out to the MIDI port connected to the Module (A, B, or Both).

Setup in Reason7

  1. Open Reason Preferences.

    • Mac: Navigate to the Reason -> Preferences or press [Command + ,(comma)]
    • PC: Navigate to Edit -> Preferences or press [CTRL + ,(comma)]
       
  2. Choose Advanced Control from the drop-down menu.
     
  3. Under MIDI Clock Sync, choose the MIDI device port connected to the MPC 1000.
     
    • A green check will indicate successful communication with the MIDI interface.
       
  4. Close the Preferences window.
     
  5. Got to the Options menu and choose Sync -> MIDI Clock.
