Keith Shocklee is not only an avid user of Akai Pro's APC40, MPK61, MPK mini and MPD16, he is also listed as one of the greatest producers in Hip Hop, appearing in Rolling Stone Magazine’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” with “It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back” and “Fear Of A Black Planet” as well as Rolling Stone Magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” with “Bring The Noize” and “Fight The Power.”
Not only has Shocklee produced successful albums for Public Enemy but Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Bell Biv DeVoe and Third Bass, but he has remixed albums for Janet Jackson, Run DMC, Sinead O’Conner, Peter Gabriel, The Neville Brothers, Paula Abdul and Ziggy Marley, just to name a few.
Shocklee co-produced major motion picture soundtracks for films such as Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” and “He Got Game” as well as scoring the film “Juice.” He has also contributed to the network arena by scoring ad campaigns for “Nike” featuring Charles Barkley and “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” featuring KRS-One.
