Mapping Individual Controls

In Reason 7, MIDI mapping individual controls like a fader or knob to a parameter in the Reason interface takes just a few simple steps.  The steps described below can be followed for mapping nearly any parameter in Reason to any knob or fader on the MPK controller.

  1. Locate the parameter in Reason that you want to control with a knob or fader from the MPK controller.  In this example, we will map the Volume parameter of the Line 6 Guitar Amp.

  2. Right-click the Volume parameter and choose Edit Remote Override Mapping...

  3. In the window that opens, add a check to the box next to Learn from control surface input then move the knob or fader you want to map and Reason will automatically recognize the control being moved.  Once Reason recognizes the control, press OK.
