The first stage of MPC 2.0 has been released for MPC Touch and MPC Live users! Here is everything you'll need to know.
All MPC Touch and MPC Live users will find a download link for the MPC 2.0 Beta on their user account pages after registering the product. If you have not already, create an account and register your MPC Touch or MPC Live to receive a copy of the MPC 2.0 Beta. This includes both Mac and Windows versions.
MPC Studio, Studio Black, and Renaissance users will not have access to the initial beta, although a future version of MPC 2.0 will be made available to these users at a later date.
You can follow our download and installation video here for a full walkthrough on downloading, installing, and authorizing the MPC 2.0 Beta.
A license for the MPC 2.0 Beta will be found directly above the download link on your account page, after registering your MPC Touch or MPC Live. This is a 30-digit iLok authorization code and can be authorized using the MPC 2.0 authorizer or the iLok License Manager.
You can follow our installation and authorization video here for a full walkthrough.
Absolutely! Check out the video below:
Windows: Windows 8.1 and 10.1, 64-bit
Mac: Mac OS X 10.10 - 10.12 (Yosemite - Sierra)
The current MPC 2.0 Beta will only be available to MPC Touch and MPC Live users, as well as MPC X users upon the hardware release. A future version of the MPC 2.0 software will be made available to MPC Renaissance, Studio, and Studio Black customers.
The MPC 2.0 Beta license can be authorized on two separate computers/iLok dongles simultaneously, so you can have two active versions at the same time. If another computer or iLok dongle needs to be authorized, the license can be deactivated and re-authorized to a different location using the iLok License Manager. This means that you are fully in control of your software authorizations!
Check out our article here for a full walkthrough.
Absolutely! Make sure your iLok is connected to the computer while authorizing the software and you will be able to choose it as a location to store the license during the authorization process.
The MPC 2.0 Beta comes with VST, AU, and AAX versions to run as a plug-in in your DAW. This currently supports Cubase 8.5/9, Logic Pro 9 and X (64-bit), Ableton Live 9, and Pro Tools 11/12.
The MPC 2.0 Beta software is 64-bit only and will only run on 64-bit systems and DAWs.
Absolutely! MPC 2.0 Beta supports 64-bit, VST2 plug-ins, as well as AU plugins for Mac.
When installed, the MPC 2.0 Beta will replace any existing version of the MPC software currently installed. However, this will not affect any of your current projects or content, which can still be used inside of MPC 2.0.
No, all of your previous projects and content will not be overwritten and can still be used in MPC 2.0
Absolutely! MPC 2.0 will be fully compatible with projects, programs, and sequences from previous MPC versions and even legacy hardware MPC's like the MPC5000 and MPC2500.
Note: While an MPC 2.0 project will open inside of MPC 1.9, you may lose some MPC 2.0 features that are not included in earlier MPC versions. It may be best to save a new version of any older MPC project opened in MPC 2.0 so you can retain a backup of the MPC 1.9 version.
Yes, MPC Touch users will have the option to upgrade to the MPC Live sound content for $99.99. This will be available on the user account page along with the rest of the software and content.
Because this is a beta version of the software, we want to hear what you have to say; what features you like, dislike, and anywhere improvements can be made. In the MPC 2.0 Beta, you'll find a feedback module where you can send notes and crash reports to be reviewed by our team and considered for the next update.
